We traditionally do a $50 buyin for the Main Event at our meetups. (And between $15-20 for the two other events)
I thought I'd put a poll up to see if you'd like to change the buyins this time. Reason being, its a much larger field, we're hoping at least 100 and maybe 150.
Payout structure will be determined, but likely between 15-20% of the field gets paid. [We may or may not do bounties, or the traditional "high stakes" second pool depending on complexity.]
So let's poll for just the Main Event right now. Please select the buyin amount you'd prefer.

I thought the idea of a two-tiered buy-in like WCB3 was awesome. I think almost everyone bought in for both so maybe a $50 + $50 would work.
What about a $50 + $50 + $100?

I agree that a two-tiered buy-in is the way to go. Keeping the main buy-in affordable means that everybody can participate and compete for bragging rights and the trophy. The secondary pool satisfies the high rollers (relatively speaking, of course).

I thought the two tiered was fun, but I want to discuss it with JLD and the others before deciding. With a field this large a two tier system might be unwieldy.
Let's not confuse tis particular poll by getting into that type of system. What I'm looking for is an answer to what the most people would like to see in a ME total buyin.

$100. 23/25 players plunked down $75 total for the main event. It would be easiest to have a flat fee of $80 or $100 and that is a reasonable buyin IMO.

We're torn between a $50 ME and a $100 ME. More votes please.

Yep, agree that a 2-tiered buy-in for the ME is the way to go. Satisifies the masses and the 'high rollers'. As far as it being difficult to manage, I believe that mrticsay has a pretty good system for making it easy to payout.

Like Kyle said though, 23 of 25 bought the second tier at WCB3. I was thinking, why add to the confusion at that point, just increase the buyin. Plus we'll have a whole lot more people in this one, everyone might not get it.
I didn't want to confuse this particular poll on whether or not we're doing a two tiered buyin. I just wanted to get a vote on total buyin for the ME. So voters, whether or not we do two tiered, vote for the amount you think is best for the LSRII ME.

Re: LSRII Main Event NLHE - How much should we make the entry?
Maybe because the WCBIII was a bit of an aberration. I don't believe that past meet-ups had such a heavy percentage of folks participating in the additional buy-in. Maybe attributable to folks being so desperate for a meet-up by the time WCBIII finally rolled around.

Re: LSRII Main Event NLHE - How much should we make the entry?
I went with the traditional $50. The ME is super fun, but I also want to play cash games and all the other sorts of SNG's. With travel expenses and all that, going to $100 isn't as attractive as the $50 buyin.
