Your feedback please

I've been playing around with some label designs and would appreciate any input.

My initials are MB, I'm from Michigan and my nickname since college has been "Bliss" so of course I have a background of the Mackinac Bridge (MB, MB, MB... do we see a theme here?). Try to visualize these without the denomination as well since I'm leaning towards not having any now. The font color will match the edge spots.

I've printed these out on a laser printer and they hold up reasonably well at the small size. I'm sure there are plenty of you out there with more design experience who could give me some feedback on any improvements that might enhance the final product.

Merlin...
I like the concept with the bridge background.....
The text looks a bit jagged with such a thin 0utline. You might want to try thicker font, or thicker outline, or possibly go with some shadowing...
I guess I like the night scenes a little more as well. You might also consider the same color font througout your set if you have fairly consistent background.... black or white might work.

Shouldn't 1000 MB's be a 1 GB?

Looks like a good design... nice personal touch. I prefer the smaller denoms (if you go that route) & the top photo... I'd look at dropping the "MB" and moving the denoms to the bottom.

Without denoms I might check the look with "Michigan" at the top & "Bliss" on the bottom. I can't decide if I like the way it's wrapped on the top, seems a little odd (arc vs arch maybe??)... not bad but it makes me wonder how it'd look another way. The added MB seems a little much for me maybe you could lower the pic a little so "Michigan Bliss" has more room in the sky.

What kind of chips are you labeling? Definitely post pics of the final chips as well as anymore drafts you do up.

I think I'm going to cry... **sniff**. Those are beautiful man.

I spent hours and hours with stupid Print Shop (all I have) to come up with those and you rip these off, first post even, in no time at all.

I actually did try a night scene but I didn't have a very good pic and they looked pretty muddy. I tried night because exactly what you said, I wanted a consistent background. There was such a contrast between the sky and water in the first attempt it threw off the visibility of the lettering and I had to adjust with the lettering outline (which I'd have preferred to keep consistent).

Would you be willing to work with me on completing this design set? There's a few minor touch-ups I wouldn't mind seeing and questions I have. I'd be willing to reimburse of course.

1GB... funny (lol).

I've got 800 ASM HH's on order. Need to get a design ready for CinOs3 before his rippedsheets group buy is over.

Merlin..

Didn't mean to give you the sniffles.... And, yes, it's my first post, but I've been around quite a while... I think I may have even done a label design or two

PM me and we'll work out the design details without adding mileage to this thread.

Very nice idea and I agreed that Lynbark is better. It is hard to see the bridge in your design.

Just wanted to post what came of this. Many thanks to Brent for the design work and Jason for the mock-ups.

(that would be "Lynbark Designs" and "CinOs3")
